Capcom delays Dark Void until 2010 to avoid “crowded fall game season”

Another day goes by and yet another developer announces a pushed back release date. What was once a crowded fall 2009 gaming season has turned into a pathetic excuse for a launch window as yet another developer delays a release from this fall to winter 2010.

Following in just about every other developer’s footsteps so far this summer, Capcom today announced that Dark Void won’t be releasing this fall as promised. Instead it has been pushed back to the now super-bloated winter  of 2010. I’m talking Oprah Winfrey bloated people.

Capcom explained to Kotaku their reasoning for the delay saying “Dark Void is moving into Capcom’s fiscal Q4 in order to get the game out of the crowded fall game season and to allow the development team more time to polish and enhance the game experience.”

I’m calling shenanigans! Has anyone at Capcom been paying attention lately? They do know that just about every game slated for release this fall has been pushed back right? They don’t have internet don’t they?

Anywho hopefully the extra time to “polish and enhance the game experience” pays off. They’ll need a great game to be able to stand out that’s for sure.
