Avid gamer or not, chances are you’ve probably stumbled across this video already. It spread like herpes at a Lindsay Lohan sex party over the weekend. In the clip it appears that an Xbox Live moderator with the Gamertag “The Pro” (real whitty) passes out bans like flu vaccines at a nursing home. Get on his bad side and you can kiss your XBL privileges goodbye for a little while.
The first of two announced DLCs for Assassin’s Creed II will be hitting Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network tomorrow. The Battle of Forli will unlock memory sequence 12 which will contain six new memories. Unfortunately for you Gamersocre whores the new content will not come with any new Achievements or Trophies so you’ll just have to suffer, but it does come chalk full of new content.
You’ll cross paths with Ezio, Machievelli, Caterina Sforza and the Orsi brothers, and it looks like you’ll be taking Leonardo’s flying thingamajiggy for another annoyingly difficult flight.
The DLC will cost 320 Microsoft Points or $4.00 for you Playstation users.
Halo 3: ODST was a great game. Critics liked it and gamers flocked to it to get their latest Halo fix. But one of the big complaints about the game was that it was built with old technology. The 2009 release was built on Halo 3’s 2007 technology, and it showed. But worry not Halo fans, Bungie has no plans to make the same mistake twice.
In an interview with Edge Marcus Lehto, the game’s creative director elaborated on their ambitious undertaking.
The video posted below is for all of you fellow Achievement whores. You know who you are! If you like what you see you can check out more from the folks over at Elevator Show. Enjoy!
What if the show Mythbusters took their current gig into the digital realm? Testing out weird game glitches and physics inaccuracies? Well they haven’t done it yet, and they probably won’t anytime soon. But luckily defendthehouse.com has and we all get to sit back and enjoy.
They’ve posted a couple of videos on YouTube testing out certain myths about Modern Warfare 2 gameplay. Some are well known while others were new to me. Posted above is the second installment in the series, to check out their first vid head to their original post and check it out.
The next in a long line of glitches exploited in Modern Warfare 2 has been found. No it’s not the Javelin glitch, or the infinite care package glitch, or the bouncing claymore glitch. This ladies and gentlemen is the Ice Skating glitch.
Instead of running at normal speeds, players zip across the screen as if they are “skating”. Making it ridiculously hard to shoot or melee anyone. From doing a little investigating I found out that the glitch is actually a PC mod that was somehow migrated to the Xbox 360 version.
The folks over at Joystiq posted this trailer earlier today. I’m posting it so you World at War freaks (I’m guilty too) can get a glimpse of all the goodies we will be getting when Map Pack 3 releases.
We finally get a sneak peek of the new weapons like the one-hit-kill bowie knife (expense at 3,000 points) and the awe inspiring and delightful to watch monkey bomb! Drool over the trailer posted above and count down the days until this new zombie map wonderment!
Thank you Robert Bowling. Thank you for releasing yet another Modern Warfare 2 epic nugget of sweetness for me to drool over.
Infinity Ward’s community manager has released the latest Modern Warfare 2 trailer via his Twitter and it’s AMAZING! The trailer highlights the new multiplayer killstreak perks. In this case the AC – 130, and it appears that you’ll need to get a killstreak of 11 to unlock it.
I’m anxious to see what other killstreak unlocks they’ll make available. You can’t tell much by the video. But it’s good to see them make some changes. The old system from Call of Duty 4 and World at War didn’t reward players after their seventh kill in a row. Chopper or dogs and that was it. Getting fifteen, twenty or even more kills didn’t get you anything other then a bloated ego.
As the release date draws near, I expect the onslaught of Modern Warfare 2 goodies to continue. And in no way is that a bad thing!
Today must be a busy day at the Harmonix and MTV Games public relations office. First a new trailer (shown above) and now more confirmations as to what tunes you’ll be able to jam out on. We now know over half of the songs that will be featured on the forty-five song set list.
Here’s the list of twenty-five songs confirmed so far:
Codemasters newest tactical shooter will be dropping October 6 here in the US and on October 9 for folks in the UK. The “Armoury” trailer featured above was sent by Codemasters to blow your mind. Please be careful.
Here’s a snippet from the Codemasters press release:
“In Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising gamers play the decisive role in defusing a military flashpoint between two global superpowers that threatens the entire world. Players take the role of US Marines and Special Forces operatives dispatched to take back the oil-rich Russian island of Skira from an invading force of Chinese PLA.
The 220km² island becomes the ultimate open-world battlefield as players are empowered to make their own choices, deploy their own tactics and fight war on their own terms. Objectives are set – how they are accomplished is always up to the player who has the full resources of the US Marine Corps at their disposal and the ability to attack from any direction. Intelligent squad and enemy AI, based on authentic military tactics, react in real-time to situations as they unfold to ensure that no two games will ever play out the same.
Players will become immersed in a stunningly realistic conflict with unprecedented levels of detail, freedom and authenticity. Every decision counts, every action has a consequence and every bullet can kill as Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising recreates the lethality, tension and adrenaline of real war like never before.”
The developers spent a huge some of money on research and development for this project. We’ll find out in October if it was money well spent.

Killzone 2 fans mark July 23 on your calendar. That’s the day the latest downloadable content for the Playstation 3 exclusive will be making it’s debut.
Titled Napalm & Cordite, it contains two new multiplayer maps. Each of which will also feature weapons you could previously only use during the single player campaign.
Napalm: The VC1 Flamethrower
Found in the Suljeva Cliffside map, the VC1 Flamethrower projects an ignited stream of flammable liquid at high pressure. Consisting of low-octane gasoline and an unidentified component indigenous to Helghan, this form of Napalm is extremely effective for clearing out enemy trenches and bunkers.
Cordite: The Boltgun 4400
Also known as “The Handyman”, the semi-automatic Boltgun 4400 can be picked up in the Arctower Landing map. It uses Cordite to propel metal bolts at an extremely high velocity, often pinning its targets to walls and other objects. In addition, each round contains a time-delayed explosive charge – so if impalement doesn’t finish the target off, the ensuing explosion will.
Sony has put together something pretty swell for you Assassin’s Creed fans. The new PSP title Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines will be bundled with a new Limited Edition PSP Entertainment Pack.
The package includes:
White PSP-3000 system
Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines PSP game
UMD Movie (to be announced shortly!)
2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo
All of this will be available in November for a retail price of only $199.99. The PSP alone goes for $169.99 so you are getting the game, UMD movie and memory stick for a measly $30 extra.
Hell, it still beats shelling out $249.99 for the new PSP Go. Cough (ripoff) cough.
You should also be aware of an interesting feature for those of you who will be picking up Assassin’s Creed 2 for the Playstation 3 as well. Frederic Lefrancois, a producer for the game has elaborated on a connectivity feature between the PSP and PS3 titles saying “As players unlock health and Hidden blade upgrades in Assassin’s Creed 2 PS3, the same upgrades will be unlocked in Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines. It also works the other way round: on the PS3 you will be able to access any Templar Coins and special weapons you’ve collected on the PSP.” A nice plus for fans who own both titles. Kudos!
Below is the newest Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines trailer. Enjoy.
Earlier this afternoon Capcom announced what most of us already knew: that Resident Evil 4 would be coming to the iPhone.
The news came from a posting on Capcom’s Twitter account saying “News from Capcom Mobile: RE4 will be coming to iPhone end of July beginning with Japan, rest of world to follow shortly thereafter. Woo!”
Many of us already had clues this would be coming. Like the game being listed on the Japanese App Store, only to suspiciously be taken down soon after.
Between errant Tweets and App Store mishaps it seems like it’s getting harder and harder for developers and publishers to keep a secret. Not that they were good at it in the first place.
